Insurance Renewal Information

Our insurance renews on February 1st.

Our annual renewal for Group Insurance is February 1, 2024.  Our health coverage is moving from Aetna to Blue Choice



Our dental, and life plans remain with Guardian.  Vision is moving to Guardian as well.  There were no increases to the price of these plans from last year.


For the past several years we have offered two health plan options, a Base Plan and a Premium Plan.  The Base Plan offered a higher deductible and lower coverage percentages. We were able to offer that option free for Employee Only coverage.  The Premium Plan offered a lower deductible and higher coverage percentages, with participating employees “buying up” or paying a share of Employee Only coverage. On both plans all dependent coverage was the responsibility of the employee. 


This year we are only offering one health plan, the equivalent of the Premium Plan we have offered in the past.  We are no longer offering a free plan.  All employees, and dependents where applicable, will be on the same plan. 


STI will pay 78% of the cost of single coverage for Employee Only coverage.  If you have dependents on our plan, you will continue to pay 100% of their coverage.  The costs (per week) for participation in the plans are listed below:

Please remember spouses are not eligible for our plan if they are employed and their employer offers health coverage.


If you are insuring dependents on our plan, I encourage you to speak with our insurance representatives. There may be cheaper options available in the insurance marketplace to cover your dependents, particularly children, and you may qualify for a subsidy. 

If you are 65 or older, I encourage you to speak with our insurance representatives for information on Medicare and Medicare supplement plans.  With those options you often pay no deductible and coverage levels may be superior to our group plan at a more favorable price.



If you are currently on either of our plans, Base or Premium, and you wish to continue your coverage, there is no need to do anything.  We have automatically moved you to the new plan. 

If you decide you no longer want to participate in our plan, please let us know your coverage will be cancelled.


If you are currently NOT COVERED on our plan, but want coverage, please contact us for enrollment instructions.
